new year, new-look blog
I'm experimenting with using Blogger in order to make my diary posts from this point forward, and if successful I will attempt to incorporate it into the main site somehow.
The advantages will be that I will have the ability to post from any computer (if I can remember my password) , automated indexing and dating, and a comments function.
I may have problems getting it to look the way I want it to, but it's all a learning curve.
Point your browser to the new Strange Maven's Diary.

yuletide greetings
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and Happy Holidays to all who don't and have to put up with the rest of us getting drunk, eating too much and getting ourselves heavily into debt for the most irrational of reasons.
This year I decided to forego the usual paper Abiogenesis Christmas card in favour of an electronic version, due to a number of factors, not least that Abiogenesis hasn't actually published anything this year. But as with all things it's not entirely straightforward as the question of compatibility raises its ugly head and only those with fairly recent browser software and/or Flash Player 8 or above you will only be able to view the images and not the text which constitutes an critical part of the whole experience.
You can view the e-card here.
And to all those who lag behind in computer technology, have a very happy and peaceful New Year.

off to birmingham
After suffering a mild migraine for the past four days, I seem to be recovering sufficiently at this point in order to confirm my attendance at the new Birmingham International Comics Show this weekend.
I shall be visiting the second city for the first time, so I hope to reach some new readers, despite it being so close to the festive season (or to 'Winterval' as the Birmingham City Council have decided to rename Christmas in their wisdom).
Anyway, I hope to see you there.

gary's back on the intraweb again
Regular visitors to this pseudo-blog may have noticed the lack of regular updates during the past couple of weeks as I continue to work hard to find time to get Strangehaven back on my schedule.
I have of course had the usual administrative tasks regarding Abiogenesis Press to continue to attend to, and a very pleasant first trip to the Saint Malo festival in northern France earlier this month. Mostly though, I have been working on my current freelance project, a commercial website, which has left little enthusiasm to spend what remains of my free time updating my own.
That's in addition to my continuing battle with Sky to actually get access to their Internet access to which I have been subscribing for a couple of months.
More exciting updates when possible.
