Mike Conroy's Frame to Frame
Twin Peaks meets the Prisoner
Having Despite it being over a year since an issue actually appeared, Gary Spencer Millidge's Strangehaven has been optioned for a potential TV series and movie by Los Angeles-based David Lancaster Productions. Also known as LaninCo. The company previously produced 1998's Loving Jezebel.
Co-producer Barry R Nolan is writing a series treatment and pilot for a proposed TV show based on the comic often described as a cross between Twin Peaks and The Prisoner.
"These are very exciting times for me, but it's not going to change my life just yet as I realise any TV or movie will take some time to develop", said Strangehaven's Essex-based creator. "But Barry and David Lancaster have been working very hard on developing the concept for other media and any successful translation to screen could have tremendous benefits for the comic book itself".
Millidge, currently working on the eagerly-awaiting Strangehaven #13, continued, "I would get a kick out of seeing characters I had created on the screen, but I certainly have no aspirations of becoming a Hollywood screenwriter or producer. I'd rather leave that to the experts and simply utilise any financial benefits to enable me to concentrate on developing my comic book career".
