Strangehaven 6
By Millidge, Abiogenesis

At first reading Millidge seems to be marking time here. But a second look reveals plenty of plot developments and underlines the fact that this tale of mysterious doings in the heart of England doesn't adhere to the standard techniques of storytelling. A quiet but multi-faceted gem. (MK)

Each issue is a crisis, months late, but each one is better. We can't really let go of a book that opens as well as this does - with a dramatic explanation of Peter's apparently despicable behaviour, and then works its way up. (FPB)
