It’s over ten years since the first issue of Strangehaven hit the comic shops and Gary is celebrating with a new issue, a new trade paperback and a special in-store signing.
Strangehaven #1 was published in July 1995 and in the intervening years, many things have changed, many things have stayed the same (including the cover price of Strangehaven!). Gary looks back over those ten years in his editorial in the latest issue, Strangehaven #18, scheduled to ship on 21st September 2005.
Also shipping this month is the long-anticipated third collected volume, Strangehaven: Conspiracies. It’s been five years since the previous volume, Brotherhood was published, and for those who do not buy the periodical version, it has been a frustrating wait. The new book features an introduction by the celebrated Watchmen artist and co-creator Dave Gibbons.
To launch the new volume, Gary will be making two comic shop signings in the Essex area on September 17th. He will be appearing at the Southend-on-Sea branch of ACE Comics (formerly Into The Void) at 11.00 AM until approximately 12.30. He then makes a dash to ACE’s High Street Colchester branch for his second signing of the day beginning at 2.00 PM. You will be able to purchase copies of all the Strangehaven trade paperbacks, including the new volume Conspiracies, the new Strangehaven #18 and other sundry Strangehaven-related items. Gary of course will be happy to sign your copies, answer your questions and perhaps draw a quick sketch if he’s not too busy.
He will be accompanied at both events by the creator of Mixy, the artist known as Chronic Fatigue.
Gary will be making further appearances throughout the coming year. In addition, there will be a major new website interview announced shortly and the Comic Book Galaxy website will be running a special competition in the very near future. Both Strangehaven #18 and the Strangehaven: Conspiracies trade paperback will shortly be available from comics retailers and (in the case of Conspiracies) bookstores worldwide and are also available to order from the millidge.com shop.
