Two charity auctions are currently taking place featuring items created by Gary Spencer Millidge for the Alan Moore: Portrait of An Extraordinary Gentleman book, and for a Christmas Deck of Cards.
Firstly, Gary has created a unique, one-off, reformatted full colour version of his Alan Moore biographic, originally reproduced in monochrome in Abiogenesis Press’ highly successful Alan Moore: Portrait of An Extraordinary Gentleman book. The artwork has also been reproduced at a much larger size than in the book and runs to 16 pages measuring approximately 21 x 20 cm in its new square format. The strip is bound in a plastic folder and signed by the artist.
Like the Alan Moore: Portrait book, all proceeds from the auction will be donated to Alzheimer’s charities. Many other pieces of artwork from the book are also being auctioned, but hurry, as the auction ends on 16 October.
Secondly, to coincide with Kev F. Sutherland’s new London Winter Comics Festival Special on November 1st, a new Deck of Christmas Cards is being created by the comics fraternity, with all the artwork to be auctioned off in aid of the children’s charity Childline. Gary has donated a brand new festive Strangehaven painting to the deck.
All the artwork will be auctioned off at the one-day show on November 1st, but you can place a reserve bid on your favourite piece now, by visiting the official Christmas charity card auction site.
