Strangehaven is now set to be published in the native languages of Portugal and France in addition to the already-published Italian editions and upcoming Spanish version. There is also a translated Brazilian edition in the works.
For Portugal, an agreement has been signed with Edições Devir for Strangehaven to run as a series of books (each containing three issues of the original comic). The first volume is due to be launched at the Festival Internacional de Banda Desenhada de Amadora in November . Gary will be appearing as a guest of the festival and Devir on the final weekend of the event, 5-6 November.
The agreement also permits Devir to publish a slightly amended edition for Brazil, which is planned for early 2006.
In France, Strangehaven: Arcadia has been signed up by Editions Akileos for an oversize edition containing six issues (i.e. the entire Arcadia volume). This edition will feature alternative cover artwork and has been scheduled for release at the 2006 Festival International de la Bande Dessinee in Angouleme at the end of January at which Gary will be appearing as a guest of Akileos.
Strangehaven is already regularly published in Italy by Black Velvet Editrice (currently up to issue 5, reprinting two issues per volume) and Gary will be appearing at the Napoli Comicon in March 2006.
Also due for publication is a Spanish version of Strangehaven: Arcadia from Planeta DeAgostini Comics in December.
